HYDAC Virtual Meeting - April 2024

Yesterday, the HYDAC Youth Disability Advisory Council members gathered to focus on Earth Day and discuss ways in which they, as individuals, could contribute to making the world a better place.

It was heartening to see the consensus among the group that "Earth Day is EVERYDAY," emphasizing the importance of continuous environmental stewardship. Talking about ways we can save water, electricity, reuse, recycle/up-cycle, use less gas by doing things like riding bikes, grow our own food, and looking at sustainable energy sources.

During the meeting, the council also eagerly discussed the upcoming opening of the community garden on May 1st. Excitement filled the air as they deliberated on what plants to cultivate this year and how to nurture the garden to its fullest potential. It was inspiring to witness their enthusiasm for connecting with nature and actively participating in sustainable practices.

Overall, the meeting was filled with productive discussions, thoughtful reflections, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact on both the environment and the community.

It was a reminder of the power of collective action and the importance of coming together to effect change.
